Chard Rock Festival chooses South West MS Therapy Centre as Charity of the Year

We are delighted to announce that The South West MS Therapy Centre has been chosen as Charity of the Year by Chard Rock music festival.

The weekend event is held in Somerset every year, promising to raise awareness and vital funds for our charity.

Featuring an amazing line up of rock tribute acts such as Hysteria (a Def Leppard Tribute), Not Quite Snake, Forever Queen, The Darkest and Cult Fiction, the festival promises to be a lot of fun with weekend adult tickets at just £40. Child tickets are £15 and day tickets are also available.

Charity Liaison Officer Michelle Arnold, from Chard Rock said: “We choose a different local charity each year and want to support the Centre because one of our volunteers was recently diagnosed with MS. She is over the moon we are raising funds to support people with MS and as part of her own fundraising will be doing a sponsored head shave on stage during the weekend. We work hard on our fundraising and will run a raffle each day, name a bear each day, and have a book stall and other items to sell during the weekend.”

South West MS Therapy Centre CEO Caroline Aird said: “The Chard Rock team are a breath of fresh air and energy in fundraising, and we can’t wait to meet the festival goers during the weekend. It promises to be a brilliant event.”

The festival is small with around 500 people attending each year and children are welcome when accompanied by adults over 18. There is a children’s tent and colouring competition. It is a family event, set up by Michelle’s husband who is the brains behind the festival which started in 2018 as a one day event. It has now grown into the weekend with Friday night early camping and a charity BBQ.
